I won the auction, how do I contact the seller?

How to contact the seller after you win, via winning email, Contact on the listing, or Won auctions.

Written by Jackie Blaskovich

When the auction closes and you are the winning bidder, you will receive an email with information on how to contact the seller. You can also go to the item page and click Contact, or go to your won auctions in My Municibid and click Contact.

Using Contact sends the seller a message through Municibid’s internal messaging system.

Keep records of communication with the seller (emails and phone calls). That helps if you need to resolve a dispute or escalate.

Where to find the seller’s information

Winning bid email

The winning bid email includes seller contact information, the item description, and any pickup instructions the agency provided. Use that email to get in touch if they haven’t reached out yet.

If the seller doesn’t respond, send a follow-up and copy support@municibid.com so there’s a record.

Item page

On the listing page, use Contact to message the seller through Municibid. Include the listing number and what you need (payment questions, pickup timing, etc.).

Under My Municibid → Bidding → Won, click Contact for the item to message the seller.

Paying for the item: How you pay depends on the invoice. Some listings show a Pay Now button (Municibid collects payment). Others say to pay the agency directly — follow the Payment Details on the listing. See I won my auction what's next? for the full next steps.

If contact details look outdated or you still can’t reach them after trying Contact and email, reach out to support@municibid.com and include the listing number.
