Royalty Splits let you automatically share recording (master) royalties with participants on a track.
Instead of manually calculating and sending payments, you can define percentage shares per track — and we’ll collect and distribute royalties accordingly.
⚠️ Royalty Splits apply only to recording (master) rights.
Publishing and songwriting rights are not affected.
What Are Royalty Splits?
Royalty Splits allow you to define what percentage of a track’s recording revenue each collaborator receives.
Typical participants may include:
Producers / Beatmakers
Featured Artists
Engineers
Band members
Manager
You remain in control as the release owner.

2️⃣ Add a track
Add a track to your release and scroll to Royalty Splits (Recording Rights)
2️⃣ Add Participants

Percentage share
You must add at least one participant to submit splits.
3️⃣ Set Percentages
Define the percentage each participant receives.
✅ The total split must equal 100%.and you must keep at least 1%
4️⃣ Submit the Split
Once you submit your release the splits will be assigned. We will apply those all to future royalty reports.
What Happens After You Invite Someone?
There are three possible participant types:
✅ 1. Active MusicHub user (Fully Set Up Account)
If you invited someone who is already an active MusicHub user
Splits take effect with the next royalty report.
Royalties are automatically collected and paid out to them.
⏳ 2. Registered User (Account Not Fully Set Up)
If you invite someone who is a registered MusicHub user but hasn't set up their account yet:
They must complete their account setup (payment & tax info).
Until then, royalties cannot be distributed to them and we continue to distribute their share to you. As soon as the account set up is completed we start to pay out their share to them with affect to the next upcoming royalty report
👤 3. Not Registered Yet
They must create an account and complete their details.
Until they register, their share of royalties are paid to you.
Once they complete registration, future reports will follow the split.
Important Things to Know
DSP Reporting Limitations
Some streaming report royalties at EAN (album) level only, not per track.
If a release contains multiple tracks with different splits:
Royalties may be distributed proportionally based on track weighting.
If no per-track data is available, earnings may be split evenly across tracks before applying percentages.
This ensures fair distribution even when detailed stream data is unavailable.
SEPA Restriction
Due to technical limitations, royalty splits can currently only be distributed to recipients in countries that support SEPA payments.
If a participant is located outside a SEPA-supported country, payouts cannot be processed.
Track Takedowns
If a track is taken down:
It will no longer generate new revenue.
However, royalties from past activity may still be reported and distributed.
⚠️ Important: Splits Cannot Be Edited (Yet)
Once a split is submitted, it cannot be changed or updated at this time.
Please double-check:
Participant names
Email addresses
Percentage allocations (must total 100%)
before submitting.
If you need to make corrections after submission, please contact customer support.
When Do Splits Take Effect?
For existing MusicHub users → With the next royalty report.
For new users → Once they register and complete their account setup.
Splits are not retroactive unless explicitly configured otherwise.
