Student: How do SMS notifications work?

Students: you can now receive SMS message alerts for lessons

Updated over 2 months ago

Perhaps you're a new student to the platform who has just received an SMS alerting you to a response to your enquiry from a teacher?

Or maybe you're been with the platform for some time and you're keen to receive lesson reminders by SMS message to help stay organised?

Well, you're in the right place as in this article, we'll go through the SMS messages we offer and how you're in control of what you receive from us.

What SMS notifications can I receive?

First response from teacher: We'll let you know by SMS when you first receive a reply to an enquiry from a teacher. You'll receive email notifications about every message, the SMS simply alerts you to the first response. The default setting for this message in your account is ON.

Lesson reminders: Stay on track and receive helpful reminders of the date and time of upcoming lessons via SMS. The default setting for this message is OFF.

Lesson reminders for your child: If you've added a child to your account as a sub-user and you'd like them to receive lesson reminders directly on their phone, enable lesson reminders by SMS in your account. The default setting is OFF, and you can activate it in "my account>personal information." Scroll down the page to view your child's information and you will find the tick box under the heading "Enable lesson reminders by SMS."

Invitations to purchase a block of lessons: Your teacher can send you information when it's time to add a block of lessons to your account. The default setting for this message is OFF.

How can I change my notification settings?

Head to "my account > emails and notifications" to see the available options. It's quick to alter your settings for both SMS and email notifications.
