Search Filters aim to help both students easily find a suitable teacher and for the teacher to reduce the number of enquiries not relevant to them. Having up-to-date search information ensures you receive the best enquiries for you.
Where can I set my search criteria?
You can update your search filter settings from within your account. On the top navigation menu, press “Edit profile” and then on the left-hand sidebar press “Search Filters” to be taken to the settings.
Which settings are available to me?
There are three search filter settings available for you to set:
Availability - the days you are available to teach
Ability Levels - this informs the student of the ability level you are happy to teach. The options are beginner, basic, intermediate, advanced and professional level
Age Group - informs the student of the age range you are happy to teach. The options are infants (and parents), children, teenagers, adults and seniors
Where can the student see these settings?
These settings are shown to students in 2 places:
When searching for a teacher, our search engine features filters that can be used to refine search results. For example, if a student is looking for a teacher to teach an intermediate teenager on a Tuesday, filters can be used to show the teachers who have this set
At the bottom of your student-facing profile, there are boxes showing your search filter settings
What are the advantages of setting these filters?
There are two main advantages of setting up search filters.
Students can search for teachers who have input this information for a more personalised result. Without your filters set, a student may not see your profile
You will not receive as many enquiries from students you may not wish to teach due to their age, ability or availability
