When purchasing lessons, you have a choice of two products. These products differ in their set-up process, use and terms and conditions.
Lesson Blocks versus Lesson Offers
Lessons Blocks - think of these as an “off-the-shelf” solution.
Students can purchase single lessons or blocks of 5, 10, 20 or 40
The larger the block purchased, the less you pay per lesson
Students can purchase blocks of 10 and 20 lessons in 3 monthly instalments
Students can purchase blocks of 40 lessons in 10 monthly instalments
If a student needs to cancel a booked lesson, 24 hours notice is required
Unused lessons are eligible to be refunded
Once purchased, the teacher inputs the lessons into the calendar. Lessons are moved from the block and used to confirm the lesson booking. Confirmed lessons are automatically placed on the teacher’s invoice for payment
Transport fees are applicable if the teacher travels to the student and are purchased separately using the ‘Add transport fees’ button on the student’s dashboard. Teachers can add a transport fee of between £1 and £30 when creating lessons
Lesson Offers - these are flexible to suit the way a teacher wishes to work
Can include as few or as many lessons as required
If totalling more than £100.00, Lesson Offers can be paid over 3 monthly instalments
The terms and conditions, including cancellation/refunds, are set by the teacher
A Lesson Offer is created by the teacher and sent to the student to view and purchase.
The price of an Offer should include the cost of transport fees
Once purchased, lessons are input automatically into the calendar
The teacher sets the Lesson Offer price, which includes the option to offer a ‘free’ trial lesson
A 14-day cooling-off period applies to Lesson Offers. From the date of purchase or until the first lesson takes place, the student has the legal right to change their mind
The teacher cannot refund a Lesson Offer after the date and time has passed
In summary
The teacher sets the price of a block of lessons. It is the same price for each student. Cancellation and refunds are allowed, subject to the correct notice period given.
Offers are more flexible for teachers and are bespoke to each student, including the price and terms and conditions for cancellation and refunds.
