Teacher: How can I see how my profile is performing?

For teachers. This article will help you understand the box at the top left of your dashboard.

Updated over 2 months ago

This 'stats' box tells you several important pieces of information you should be aware of and closely monitor. We shall look at each in turn to discuss what they mean, the impact they can have and how and when to make changes.

Response time

Your response time is shown to students on your full profile. When making their initial enquiry, many students are looking to be responded to very quickly. Teachers who reply to the first message within a few hours are significantly more likely to gain a new student.

Your response time is calculated using the time you take to reply to a first enquiry message divided by the number of these messages over a 3-month rolling period. If your response time is high, check your first messages over the last 3 months to ensure you haven't missed replying to one. You can use the 'decline' link if you do not wish to respond to a student message at any time. For more information on your response time take a look at our article on this.

Student visits today

Student visits today advise how many students have viewed your full profile that day. It can be using a direct link you may have provided or seeing your profile in the search results and clicking through to read more.

Student visits in the last 90 days

The last 90 days' figure is important to monitor. For most teachers, the average number in this section is 300. If your results are much lower than 300, you should view your profile in the search results. By searching for yourself using your instrument and location, you will see what a student sees. Analyse this, comparing your results with the teachers around you. Look out for:

  • Profile picture - does it stand out? Are you smiling and looking at the camera?

  • Cover picture - does it enhance or detract from your profile?

  • First 25 words approximately - are they compelling, making the viewer want to read more? Do they include your USP? Ensure these words are not duplicating information already included, for example, location and instruments taught.

  • Think - if you were a student presented with the search results, would you want to view your full profile ahead of your competitors?

Your profile is 'Visible', 'Private' or 'Hidden'

Is this set correctly? Usually, you will want to be visible to students, but sometimes you may wish a few weeks off from new enquiries. You can change this by pressing Edit profile < Visibility. Read more about your visibility settings in our article to help you with this.
