Teachers: How to change lesson lengths

For teachers: the process to follow if you wish to change the lesson duration for a student

Updated over 2 months ago

This article explains what to do if you and your student wish to change the lesson length.

Purchased lessons can only be used to pay for a lesson of the same duration. For example, a 30-minute lesson can only be used to pay for a 30-minute lesson. Lessons cannot be split to make up different durations. Please note that it is not possible to amend the lesson duration within the account.

If you wish to change the duration of upcoming lessons, depending on the situation, there are different options available to you.

  1. Auto-renewal: check if the auto-renewal is set on the student's account. If there is, ask the student to cancel the auto-renewal or edit to the new lesson length. This can be done from their dashboard under the heading Lesson Block Renewal.

  2. No lessons remaining in account: if the student has already used all their lessons, they can go ahead and purchase the new lesson duration.

  3. Lessons remaining in the current block: if unused lessons are in the student account, it is best to teach these before making the change. If this is not feasible, contact Support to request a refund for these lessons.

What happens when a refund is requested?

Refund requests are processed by Support. It can take up to 10 days for the funds to be returned to the card from which the purchase was made. Your student will then need to make a new purchase of the correct lesson duration.
