Accent Marks & Special Characters

Learn how to add accented characters to text.​

Copy + Paste Method

The easiest method to insert a special character or accent mark is to search for the word using a popular search engine such as Google, Bing or Yahoo, then copy the character or word and paste it into the text field.

Here are some common accented menu items that can be copied and pasted:

  • entrées

  • sautéed

  • jalapeño

  • ¼

  • ½

  • crème fraîche

  • café

  • à la carte

  • crème brûlée

Adding Special Characters to Plain Text

From within the design editor, select any Plain text box, and from the top toolbar, select the æ icon.

With a specific letter selected within the Plain text box, click to select the special character.

Adding Special Characters to Menu Groups

From within the design editor, select a Menu Group text box, then select the item to add a special character to.

Select a specific letter, then select the ⋮ (stacked ellipsis) icon.

From the options, select the æ icon.

Click to select the desired character.
