Depending on the template, there are a few options for changing the background.
If the background has a full page graphic, then graphic can be replaced or deleted. In some cases the full page graphic colors can be changed, but many won't allow it.
To remove the full page background graphic -
Select the background, then select the trash can icon in the upper right. If the word "Locked" appears in the upper right, click on it then click on the trash can icon. Then select the Delete option in the drop down.
To change the full page background graphic to a new photo -
The background design can be swapped out by dragging (not clicking) a graphic or photo on the left and hovering it over the menu design area on the right. The graphic/photo will automatically apply to the background.
If the template has multiple different graphics in the background -
Select any background graphic and drag it to rearrange the background. Some graphics can have colors changed by selecting the graphic, then select the color box in the upper left in the drop down toolbar. Then select the color options on the left.
Changing the entire background color once the graphic(s) has been removed -
The entire background color of the menu design can be changed once the background graphic is removed, by selecting the background on the menu design page. Then select the color box next to the word FILL in the upper left. Then use the color picker on the left to change the entire background to a solid color or gradient colors.
Please note, the above option will only change the background to a solid color. Any graphics will need to be selected and changed using the color picker box in the toolbar above the menu design area.
