Edit Once & Update Everywhere
For this demonstration, three different designs are using menu data from the Item Library, specifically, the Salads Menu Group.
From the Home page, or from within the design editor, select Item Library from the left.
From within the Item Library, locate an item within a specific menu.
The Caesar Salad within Jimbo's Main Menu will be the focus of this article.
When a change is made in the Item Library to one of the items within the Salads section, the data will update across all designs using that updated data.
For this example, the Caesar Salad's price will increase from 9.5 to 11.
Select the item within the Item Library and adjust the price.
Then select Update All Channels in the upper right.
Back in any of the three designs using the Item Library data, a pop up message will appear, stating there are updates.
Select Get Updates.
Note: At this point, the Caesar Salad shows the original price of 9.5
The editor will reload, and the updated pricing will be visible on the design.
The price on the Caesar Salad updated to 11.
The same experience will be seen when accessing all applicable designs.
While this individual pricing update across three designs might not be a drastic change, the Item Library empowers a user to update data in one place and have that change reflect in all instances of usage.
This can save time when updating digital menu boards, or when the same menu items are used across multiple menus.
