Are you migrating your brand to Club? Exciting times!
If you're wondering how to keep your loyal users happy and let them use their beloved discount codes, we’ve got you covered! Here’s a simple guide to ensuring users keep their discount codes without a hitch.
Step 1: Timing is Critical ⏳
A well-planned approach is crucial—you must delete old discount codes before allowing users to generate them on Club. Failure to do so may result in conflicts, preventing users from successfully transferring their existing codes.
Step 2: Identify High-Priority Users 🎯
Since not all discount codes need to be migrated. Focus on users who provide the most value to your brand (e.g. VIP users, high-revenue generators etc.)
Step 3: Delete the Codes from Your eCommerce Platform 🗑️
To facilitate a seamless transition, delete discount codes from your existing eCommerce platform before enabling them on Club. Below are the platform-specific instructions:
Shopify: Navigate to Shopify > Discounts > Select codes > Click the three dots on the top right > Delete discounts
Adobe (Magento2): Go to Marketing > Promotions > Cart Price Rules > Select the coupons > Click "Delete" from the Actions selector
WooCommerce:
Navigate to Marketing > Coupons
Hover over the coupon and click "Trash" OR select "Move to Trash" from the coupon editor
Go to Trash > Empty Trash
BigCommerce:
Navigate to Marketing > Coupon Codes
Select the coupon(s) by checking the box next to its name
Click the trash can icon to delete
Step 4: Enable Users to Regenerate Their Codes on Club 🔄
After successfully deleting old discount codes, users can seamlessly recreate them on Club. This step ensures a frictionless transition and enhances customer satisfaction.
Important Consideration: Timing is Essential ⏰
If users attempt to generate their discount code on Club before it has been deleted from the previous platform, they will encounter an error message. Additionally, the system will store their code, preventing future generation even after deletion.
🚨 Best Practice: Ensure all discount codes are removed from the previous platform before allowing users to generate them on Club.
By following these steps, you can retain user trust and ensure a smooth transition, but if at any point you encounter a hiccup - please feel free to reach out to us to help execute your migration strategy with confidence🚀
