The Structure of MDC Accounts
An MDC account is organized around a Team and Businesses. Each account hosts one team, which can manage multiple businesses.
Within this structure, there is a Team Owner and multiple Team Members, who can be assigned to different businesses and have different permissions.
Team
The team is the highest level within the account. Here, the Team Owner can set up essential elements such as a custom domain, custom email address, and branding for the marketing workspace. This foundational setup is crucial for maintaining a cohesive brand identity.
Businesses
The Business level serves as the workspace where marketing strategies are developed and managed for different businesses or clients. Typically, each business represents a client, allowing for individualized strategy and management per client.
Team Roles
Team Owner
The Team Owner holds the highest level of access within the MDC account. This role includes full permissions to set up and configure the account, manage user permissions, and access all businesses. The Team Owner is instrumental in orchestrating the overall strategy and ensuring all elements are in place for success.
Team Members
Team Members are invited by the Team Owner or an Administrator and must be assigned a specific role: Read Only, Editor, or Administrator.
Each Team Member must be be assigned to at least one business to access MDC; otherwise, they will be logged out immediately. Team Members can only access and perform actions within the businesses they are assigned to, based on their role.
Permissions
Administrator
This role grants nearly full permissions to the account, with some exceptions. Administrators can view all businesses under the teams account, invite and allocate team members, and access analytics and AI services.
The Administrator role should only ever be assigned to employees within your organization, not external clients!
Editor
Editors have the ability to read and write to the businesses they are assigned to. Additional permissions, such as AI access or Analytics access, can be set or removed individually. This role is ideal for team members, whether clients or employees, who contribute to strategy development without needing administrative access.
Read Only
As the name implies, the Read Only role allows team members to read the strategy and add comments. Optionally, you can grant them analytics access. This role is perfect for those who need to stay informed and provide feedback without editing capabilities.
Feature Specific Permissions
A more granular layer of permissions are also available that allow you to add or remove access to specific features like Time Tracking, AI Access, and Analytics Access, and Budgets. These can be tailored to the needs of each team member to ensure they have the tools and information necessary for their role.
Understanding and effectively assigning roles and permissions within MDC ensures that your team operates smoothly and efficiently, maintaining a focus on delivering exceptional marketing strategies for your clients.
