Written by Cristina Gruita

This article explains how to add an Events Calendar page to the portal so users can view school events. It also covers the additional calendar options, such as whether to include co-curricular events, club and activity bookings, and timetable entries.

πŸ“ŒNote: If your portal already has a content page with Page Type = Events Calendar, you can edit that existing page instead of creating a new one.

Create an Events Calendar Page

  1. Log in as an Admin user.

  2. Click Admin Control Panel.

  3. Click Content, then click Content Manager.

  4. Next to the relevant heading, click Add new page.

  5. In the Page Type drop-down, select Events Calendar.

Complete the Content Section

In the Content section, complete the following fields:

  • Section: Choose which section you want the page to appear under.

  • Page Name: Enter the name you want users to see for the page, for example Events Calendar or School Calendar.

  • Tag: Tags are predefined. Use the appropriate tag only if required by your portal setup.

  • Content: Add any introductory or explanatory content if needed.

Set the Additional Calendar Options

In the Additional Options section, choose what should be displayed on this calendar page.

You can enable any of the following:

  • Include Events on this calendar page.

  • Include Cocurricular Events on this calendar page.

  • Include Club & Activity Bookings on this calendar page.

  • Include Timetable on this calendar page.

πŸ“Œ Note: Do not select Include Timetable on this calendar page if you do not want lesson times to be displayed to users.

Choose only the items you want users to see on this particular calendar page.

Set Permissions for the Page

In the Permissions section, complete the following fields:

  1. Page enabled: Select this checkbox to show the page to users immediately after saving.

  2. Section visible to all users: Clear this checkbox if you want to set more specific permissions, such as:

    • School.

    • Year Group.

    • User permissions.

This allows you to control who can see the Events Calendar page.

Save the Page

  1. Review the page settings.

  2. Click Save Changes.

The Events Calendar page is now available to users based on the permissions and content options you selected.
