What date will the new app launch?

The new app is due to be released on the 30th of June 2021.

Will my mission progress be affected?

All mission progress will be carried over to the new app.

Participants will be required to log in to the new app once they have updated and will also need to re-connect Apple Health/Google Fit if they are using these connections.

Is there a way to access the app before the launch date?

The app won't be available for public use until the 30th of June.

My mission is launching at the beginning of July, do you have any guidelines available for my participants?

The join process for your mission will be unchanged.

Participants have started joining my mission, and have downloaded the old app, what happens when my mission starts?

Your participants will be able to update to the new app once it’s available. We will be communicating this with all participants closer to the time.

Will participants be told that there is a new app?

Yes, we will be communicating this with all participants 1-2 weeks before the new app is released.

Will the existing app continue to work for missions that are in progress?

It will continue to work, but if a person updates to the latest version, then they will not be able to go back to the old version.

If they do not update to the new version, they will be able to continue to use the old version, however this will be phased out over the next few months and will no longer be supported.

If you do not want your participants using the new app you will need to tell them to turn off automatic app updates for My Virtual Mission.

What happens if my participants don’t want to use the new app?

We have developed the new app to offer an enhanced experience to participants. The new app will be a huge improvement on the current app in both visual appeal, navigation and performance.

If there are people on your mission that do not want to use the new app, they will need to turn off their automatic app updates for My Virtual Mission. They will be able to continue to use the old version, however this will be phased out over the next few months and will no longer be supported.

Will milestones still work on the new app?

Yes! All platform features will be available on the new app, they’re just going to be a lot more visually appealing.

Do I have to set up my mission again?

No, your mission will translate onto the new app, and all admin functions will remain the same. Only the app will be changing.
