Creating Condition Notes

Updated this week

What are condition notes?
Short messages that tell buyers what to expect (e.g., “Light cover wear, pages clean”). Create them once, reuse them when you list.

Where to find Condition Notes

  1. Open AccelerList.

  2. Click Condition Notes in the left menu.

Make your first condition note

  1. Click Add New (or similar button).

  2. Pick a Category (example: Books).

  3. Pick a Sub-category/Condition (example: Used – Good).

  4. Type a Nickname so you can find it fast (example: Books—UG Generic).

  5. Type the note buyers will see (keep it short and honest).

  6. Click Save.

Example notes (you can copy/edit):

  • Books – Used Good: “Cover has light wear. Pages clean with no writing. Dust jacket may have small scuffs.”

  • Books – Used Acceptable: “Noticeable wear. Writing or highlights on some pages. Fully readable.”

  • Books – Like New: “Looks unread. No writing, tight binding.”

    • Setting 5 is optional. If you’d like to link your condition notes to an existing entry, select one of the available options; otherwise, leave the field blank.

Use your notes while listing (fast method)

  1. Sort your items into piles by condition (e.g., all Used – Good together).

  2. Start your batch.

  3. On the right sidebar, choose the Condition and pick your Condition Note.

  4. Scan all items in that pile—the same note applies automatically.

  5. Move to the next pile, change the sidebar condition/note, then continue.

Edit or delete notes

  • Go back to Condition Notes.

  • Click the pencil to edit or the trash to delete.

  • Use filters (category/condition) to find notes quickly.

Simple tips to go faster

  • Keep notes short and clear. Buyers skim.

  • Make a small set of “go-to” notes per condition (Good, Acceptable, Like New).

  • Use clear nicknames so you pick the right note fast (e.g., Books—UG Generic, Books—UA Heavy Wear).

  • Set the condition + note in the sidebar before you start scanning a pile.

FAQs

Do I need a different note for every item?
No. Make a few reusable notes per condition. Edit only when something special needs to be called out (e.g., “missing dust jacket”).

Where do I change the note while listing?
In the right sidebar of the listing page.

Can I fix or update my old notes?
Yes. Go to Condition Notes, edit the note, and save.

How long should notes be?
1–3 short sentences. Be honest and clear.
