🧭 Overview
Amazon has a standard 50 lb weight limit per box (unless approved otherwise).
If one of your boxes exceeds this limit, you’ll need to rebalance the contents correctly—not just physically, but also in the system.
👉 The key rule:
Your box content must always match what’s actually packed
⚠️ Important Before You Start
❗ Do NOT just move items between boxes without updating the system
❗ Each box label is tied to specific contents
👉 Any changes must be done inside the shipment workflow first
🔧 Step-by-Step: Fixing Overweight Boxes
1️⃣ Identify the Overweight Box
Check which box exceeds 50 lbs
Review what items are inside that box
2️⃣ Go Back to the Box Content Step
Open your shipment in AccelerList
Navigate to the Box Content / Packing step
3️⃣ Redistribute Items Across Boxes
Move some items from the overweight box to another box
Or create a new box if needed
👉 Goal:
Each box should be under 50 lbs
4️⃣ Update Quantities Per Box
Adjust the item counts per box in the system
Make sure each box reflects the new distribution
5️⃣ Verify Box Weights
Recalculate weights for each box
Ensure all boxes are within limits
6️⃣ Regenerate Box Labels
After updating box content, generate new labels
👉 Old labels are no longer valid if contents changed
7️⃣ Repack Your Boxes
Pack items according to the updated box content
Apply the correct labels to the correct boxes
📌 Example
Before:
Box 1 → 55 lbs ❌
After:
Box 1 → 40 lbs ✅
Box 2 → 35 lbs ✅
👉 Items are redistributed and system updated accordingly
🚫 What NOT to Do
Don’t swap items after labels are printed
Don’t ignore the weight limit
Don’t ship boxes that don’t match the system
💡 Tips
Spread heavy items across multiple boxes
Use consistent packing methods
Double-check weights before finalizing
✅ Quick Summary
To fix overweight boxes:
Go back to box content
Redistribute items
Update the system
Regenerate labels
Repack correctly
👉 Always ensure system = physical box contents
