FBA Shipment Checklist Before You Ship

A final checklist for verifying inventory, box content, labels, packaging, measurements, and carrier information before sending an FBA shipment to Amazon.

Before handing your FBA shipment over to the carrier, take a few minutes to verify that everything is correct. A final check can help prevent labeling errors, incorrect box contents, tracking problems, and delays when Amazon receives your inventory.

FBA Pre-Shipment Checklist

✓ Verify your inventory
Confirm that the products and quantities physically packed in each box match the shipment and box-content information you submitted.

✓ Check product labels
Make sure products requiring Amazon barcode/FNSKU labels have the correct labels and that they are readable and attached to the correct items.

✓ Verify box content
For multi-box shipments, make sure each item has been assigned to the correct box and that your submitted box-content information accurately reflects what is inside each box.

✓ Inspect your packaging
Make sure products are appropriately protected and that boxes are sturdy enough for transportation to Amazon.

✓ Check box weight and dimensions
Weigh and measure each box after it has been completely packed and sealed. Confirm that the information entered for the shipment is accurate.

✓ Apply the correct box labels
Make sure each box has its corresponding FBA box ID label. Don't accidentally switch labels between boxes in a multi-box shipment.

✓ Check your carrier information
Confirm that you've selected the correct carrier and shipping method before finalizing the shipment.

✓ Verify shipping labels
If you're using an Amazon-partnered carrier, make sure the required carrier shipping labels have been printed and correctly applied.

✓ Keep labels readable
Place labels on a flat, accessible area of the box and avoid placing them across box seams, corners, or areas where they could become damaged.

✓ Verify the shipment in Seller Central
Before sending your inventory, review the shipment details in Amazon Seller Central and make sure the destination, box count, quantities, and other shipment information look correct.

Final Check

Once your boxes leave your facility, correcting mistakes becomes much more difficult. Taking a few minutes to verify the shipment before carrier pickup or drop-off can help prevent avoidable receiving and reconciliation issues.
