Can I share my project draft?
MyCanvas allows you to share your Family History Book or Poster project draft with a family member, peer, or client so they can review it and provide feedback.
How do I invite someone to collaborate on my project?
To invite a collaborator via email:
From My Projects, locate the draft you’d like to share and select Collaborate
Enter the email address of the person you’d like to invite
Click Invite
They’ll receive an email from MyCanvas with a link to collaborate on your project. If they don’t already have an account, they’ll be prompted to create one. Once they accept the invitation, they’ll be able to review and comment on the project.
What access does a collaborator have?
Collaborators have view-only access and cannot edit or place orders.
They can leave comments and provide feedback on individual pages, including linking their comments to specific elements on the page.
I’ve been invited to collaborate on a project. Where can I find it?
Click the link in the email invitation to accept the invite—this will take you directly to the draft.
You can also find projects that have been shared with you under My Projects > Shared With Me.
How do I revoke collaborator access?
From My Projects, locate the draft and select Collaborate
Click the trash can icon next to the collaborator you'd like to remove
Can I be notified when a new comment is added?
Yes! To enable email notifications:
From My Projects, locate any book or poster draft and select Collaborate
Toggle on Email Notifications (this setting applies to all projects)
You’ll receive an email whenever a collaborator leaves a comment.
Where can I find comments on the project?
Open the project and click the chat bubble icon in the top toolbar of the preview to open the comment panel.
You can also view and reply to comments on individual book pages by selecting the Collaborate tab in the left toolbar of the single-page view. From there, you can choose to view all comments or only those related to the current page.
Who can order the project?
Only the owner can order the project.
How do I share my project after it’s been ordered?
Once a project has been ordered, collaborators will no longer have access to the draft.
