5. Configure the integration. This is a multi-step process as the integration touches a number of different types of data: contacts, portals, invoices and tax settings.

Contacts and Portals

A - Automatically import client contact details to Company Contacts whenever a new contact is created in Xero. Importing contacts makes it easier for you to send documents for esign as MyDocSafe will be able to auto-complete email addresses based on client's name.

B - Automatically create a client portal and invite a client to it whenever a new client is created in Xero. Note that this option needs at least one Client Group ("Portal Group") to exist. If you have not set up your client portals yet, go to Clients -> and create a client group first.

C - Pick a client group you want to be used to automatically create portals

D - Apply the above option to all existing clients that exist in Xero - use this option with caution because if you have many clients in Xero already, all of them will be invited to MyDocSafe portals.

Tax settings for your services in MyDocSafe Proposals

If you use Proposals, you can use your Xero integration to assign appropriate tax settings to specific service categories. Go to this article to see detailed instructions:

Creating invoices in Xero automatically when onboarding a new client using MyDocSafe Proposals

You can set up a payment method using Stripe as part of MyDocSafe onboarding process. Note that you need to connect Stripe to MyDocSafe to enable this feature.

When you select Stripe as a payment method you then have an option of automatically creating invoices in Xero. To do that select the "automatically create invoices in Xero" option as shown below.
