Accepting portal invitations
Updated over a week ago

Accepting portal invitations is really simple but differs slightly depending on whether a user interacted with MyDocSafe in the past.

1. First time users

After clicking on the link on the invitation email, a first time user will be asked to confirm their name and accept our T&Cs. The phone number is not obligatory (a user can enter 'N/A'). However, if the service provider requires 2-factor-authentication to be turned on, it is advisable that users enter their mobile number correctly (they can always do that again later).

In the next step a user will be asked to setup a password:

After providing a password of sufficient strength, a user can click 'next':

If 2-factor-authentication is turned ooff, a user will be allowed into the portal straight away:

If 2-factor-authentication is turned on, a user will be asked to verify their mobile number.

Next a user will be asked to verify the mobile number provided on the initial screen and provide a code that will be sent via SMS.

2. Existing users

If an existing of MyDocSafe receives an invitation to a portal, the experience is slightly different since the initial step of setting up account credentials can be skipped.

After clicking on the link in the portal invitation email, the user will be asked to login using their existing credentials.

Next, the user will be asked to accept the new portal invitation. Clicking on 'Decline' will send an email to the portal provider that the user rejected the invitation.

Clicking on "Accept invite" lets the user into the new portal

If the user has access to multiple portals from the same provider, they will be listed on the dashboard which can be accessed by clicking on the 'x' icon or on the logo in the top left corner:

If the user is invited to a portal by a different provider, they will be able to switch between them by clicking on the 'Switch' button.

Finding existing portal invitations

If a user logs in to an existing account without clicking on the invitation link, the invitation will remain 'pending'. The pending invitation will be visible on the dashboard, below other portals:

However, if the user is logged into a different provider, the invitation can still be accessed through the personal menu in the top right corner :

The invites tab shows all pending invitations, irrespective of their source.

After accepting an invitation the user must Switch to the new provider to see the new portal:
