Cancelling an esign request - do's and don'ts
Cancelling an esign request - do's and don'ts
Updated over a week ago

If you send out a document for signing and later realise that the document is no longer needed you may want to cancel the request.

How to do it - option 1:

  1. Locate the esign request in Signatures dashboard

  2. Click on the 'i' icon associated with the request

  3. Select 'cancel'

Once a request is cancelled:

  • the document will be moved to the list of cancelled requests

  • cancellation email will be sent to the current recipient

  • the transaction log will be updated with the date of cancellation

How to do it - option 2:

It may be easier for you to locate the document in Documents or Portals rather than searching for it in Signatures dashboard.

You will notice that if a document has an outstanding esign request assocaited with it, it will show an "outstanding esign request icon", as shown below.

You can cancel the esign request by deleting the document with all associated esign requests:

MyDocSafe delete a document that was sent out for signing and cancel esign requests

If you leave the option "cancel all esign requests" unticked, the outstanding esign transactions will remain active even though the original document will have been deleted.

However, that may not be what you want - if you only want to cancel the esign request but not remove the file then:

  1. Click on the "outstanding esign request icon

  2. Cancel the esign request.
