Workflows (a.k.a Automation Rules) allow you to automate your certain day-to-day tasks so you do not have to do them manually. They are actions that you want to apply to a set of orders that meet certain criteria.

Shipment is the process that has the most repetitive tasks that occur continuously.

So we created a list for you with the most common shipment rules.

Itching to get started? Here are five automation rules you can put to work now to save you time and money on fulfillment. To start working, go to the Workflows screen and click Create a Rule, and set them up as you see in the screenshots below.

1. Insure US Domestic Orders Over $100

Condition:

If an order meets these criteria

  • Country = United States

  • Total Price ≥ $100

Action:

Apply the action:

  • Assign carrier ShipStation

  • Insure the Package with Shipsurance

2. Organize Orders with Out-of-Stock Products

Condition:

If an order meets these criteria

  • Status = Shortage

Action:

Apply the action:

  • Assign carrier ShipStation

  • Update order's Expected Shipment Date "5" days later from today

  • Send an email to the operation manager

3. Use UPS Letter for under 0.5lbs packages

Condition:

If an order meets these criteria

  • Total weight is less than 0.5lbs

Action:

Apply the action:

  • Assign carrier ShipStation

  • Assign UPS Letter package

4. Use UPS Express Box & UPS 2nd Day Air for under 30lbs packages

Condition:

If an order meets these criteria

  • Total weight is less than 30lbs

  • Total weight is greater than 10lbs

Action:

Apply the action:

  • Assign carrier ShipStation

  • Assign UPS Express Box package

  • Assign UPS 2nd Day Air shipment service

5. Use UPS 25kg Box & UPS Worldwide Express for Certain Weight Range

Condition:

If an order meets these criteria

  • Total weight is less than 25kg

  • Total weight is greater than 10kg

Action:

Apply the action:

  • Assign carrier ShipStation

  • Assign UPS 25kg Box package

  • Assign UPS Worldwide Express shipment service
