Paying for and confirming stays

Most hosts ask for some kind of payment or deposit to confirm a stay. No money is currently exchanged on MyPlace. Payments, are handled privately off-platform between hosts and their guests.

Steps to confirming a stay:

  1. Guest sends request to stay for specific dates

  2. Host reviews requested dates, and accepts the request by responding to guest with an offer that includes final exchange type and amount (when money is involved)

  3. Host and guest then agree upon basic terms

  4. Once a deposit, payment or any other confirmation method outlined by the host is completed - the host confirms the stay on the MyPlace app and the trip is locked in.

MyPlace strongly recommends upfront agreements on the following:

  1. Payment terms & payment methods

  2. Cancellation policy (on both sides)

  3. Set terms for any damage since accidents happen

For those who are asking for a financial exchange, that's up to you how you want to do that but many people use Paypal, Revolut, Venmo, bank transfers etc. Choose whatever works for you.
