Updated over a week ago

⚠️ Important: 3G Services Ended on 31st July 2024

Upgrade to a 4G/5G device now!

As of 31st July 2024, all mobile operators in Singapore, including MyRepublic, have discontinued 3G services. This change is designed to provide you with faster, more reliable 4G and 5G networks.

Who will be affected?

  • Customers with 3G-only devices.

  • Customers with 4G non-VoLTE devices.

  • Customers with 4G devices that do not support emergency calls on VoLTE.

  • Customers who have set their network mode to 3G.

🚨 Service Impact

If you are using a 3G-only device, a 4G non-VoLTE device, or have manually set your network to 3G, your data, voice, and SMS services have been impacted by the 3G shutdown.

💡 Note: Availability of the 3G network outside Singapore may vary in coverage and serviceability.

⚠️ MyRepublic 5G customers are advised to take action (if necessary) by November 2024.

For MyRepublic 4G/5G customers who are roaming outside Singapore:
With the shutdown of the 3G network, customers must be on at least a 4G network. Additionally, to ensure voice and SMS services continue to work, a roaming data plan is required.

How to Know if You're on 3G

The below icons will help you understand if your device is connected to the 3G network.

The image above shows some of the icons that may be displayed on the device when connected to the 3G network.

If your device doesn’t support 4G with VoLTE, please upgrade to a compatible 4G/5G device with VoLTE support before July 31st 2024 to avoid any impact on your mobile services.

Is My Device Compatible?

You can refer to your device manual or contact the manufacturer to learn about your device’s compatibility with 4G, VoLTE (including emergency calls on VoLTE), and 5G.

🙌 Good News! If you have a 4G VoLTE or 5G phone with the right settings, no action is required.
