Weekly Production kgMS/cow/day is calculated by dividing the total milksolids (kgMS) produced during the 7 days prior to and including the report date by the average cows in vat. This number is then divided by 7 (days).

Average cows in vat is the midpoint between the number of animals in mobs with a ‘Lactating, in vat’ status. The numbers are taken from the week that the calculation is happening and the week prior, to create a raw average for the reporting period.

Don’t forget! We smooth milk production to take into account skip-day collection cycles, so the info may differ slightly from data provided by your milk processor.
