Trev’s Pasture module captures the all important data to identify growth rates, surpluses and deficits in order to assist in making optimal pasture management decisions for your farm or business. Here’s a quick overview and what to do with each component!
Land Area Classification
This section helps to understand how much, if any, of the effective milking platform is not currently in the pastoral grazing rotation.
To add a new event:
Click on Add Land Usage at the top of the screen
Enter the new info in the Land Usage card, then click the blue Add button
Repeat as many times as you need to! You’ll notice that each time you create a new event, the remaining area in pasture will be recalculated at the bottom`
Once you’ve added all your new events for the week, click the blue Save & Continue button
Don’t forget! The area you record here will be deducted from the effective milking platform to calculate the remaining area in your pastoral grazing rotation. This is used to calculate an Adjusted Stocking Rate.
Farm Walk Data
In this section you’ll enter the info from your most recent farm walk - or the farm walk that represents your current pasture situation at the time the report is completed.
To complete the Farm Walk:
Complete each field with the appropriate calculation (you’ll see the calculation in the background of the relevant box)
Once all your data is entered, click on Save at the bottom to calculate your Round Length and Adjusted Round Length, this will give you a sense-check of the numbers
When you’re happy, click the blue Save & Continue button
Don’t forget! You won’t be able to move on until you’ve entered data in each field.
