The Trev Land module is separated into 3 different sections which work in unison to provide an accurate view of land use, pasture cover, pasture growth and area offered throughout the season. Here’s a quick overview and what to do with each component!

Paddock Events

Paddock events in Trev are categorised as either 'Land Use Areas or Land Events.

A ‘Land Use Area’ is where a portion of your farm is categorised for a period of time, such as an area set aside for hay, silage or cropping.

A ‘Land Use Event’ is a specific one-off event such as sowing, spraying or harvesting. Land Use Events can be associated to a “Land Use Area”.

Adding a “Land Use Area”

  1. Click Add Land Use Area in green at the top of the section.

  2. In the pop-up, you need to add in the date from which the area is in use, and if known the date that the land use will end.

  3. Next enter the category of what the area is being used for. The options are:

    Conserved Feed

    Cropping Area

    Regrassing Area

    Retired Area

  4. If you select Conserved Feed or Cropping Area you will need to enter the type of crop from the selection of available crops.

  5. Next is “Area” which is where you outline how much area that is in use. If you have Paddocks uploaded into Trev the option will appear to select the paddocks in use. An area will be calculated depending on what paddocks have been selected. You have the ability to overwrite this manually. If you have no paddocks uploaded, you enter the number of Hectares in use.

  6. Next is “In grazing round”: this tells Trev whether to take the area in use out of rotation and thus out of Round Length Calculations.

  7. Last are spaces for Notes and References should you wish to utilise these.

Adding a “Land Event”

  1. Click add Land Event in green at the top of the section.

  2. In the pop up select the date that the event occurred.

  3. Select the Land Use Area in which the event occurred (Either a Land Area already in use or a one-off event)

  4. Enter the type of land event from the following options

    Cultivate
    Sow
    Spray
    Harvest

  5. If Sow is selected, enter the Seed Product and Rate. If Spray is selected, enter the Spray Product and Rate. Lastly, if Harvest is selected enter the Yield rate and Yield.

  6. Enter any related notes or references then click the blue confirm button

Pasture Walks

This section allows you to enter the covers for any pasture walks you do on the farm. You have the ability to enter a farm walk for the whole farm or a selection of individual paddocks.

To enter a pasture walk:

  1. Select add pasture walk in green at the top of the section.

  2. Enter the date that the pasture walk occurred.

  3. Select either the whole farm or a predefined block of paddocks

  4. Select to enter data across the whole block (Basic) or by individual paddocks (Paddock)

  5. Enter pasture covers across each of the paddocks clicking enter as you input the number. You have the ability to skip a paddock if needed.

  6. Once data has been entered hit the blue confirm and add button.

Land Summary

This section gives a summary of the previous two components in the land module.

The only thing to fill out in this section is the Pasture Growth (7d Average kgDM/ha/day) and Area fed (kgDM/ha/day) boxes.

The rest of this component gives insights into how the data has changed from the last report to the current report.
