A Trigger is a rule (or set of multiple rules) that is created using a combination of a ‘metric’, ‘operation’ and ‘value’, those being:

  • Name - the name you give your customised Trigger, e.g “Low APC alert”

  • Metric - the KPI that you want to evaluate, e.g. Average Pasture Cover.

  • Operation - how you want to evaluate the metric, e.g. is less than

  • Value - the threshold that you determine, e.g. 1900 kgDM/ha

Using the examples above, the “Low APC alert” Trigger would be “if Average Pasture Cover (metric) is less than (operation) 1900 kgDM/ha (value)”.

For further customisation:

  • Multi-rule - you can add multiple rules inside a Trigger. If there is more than one rule, you can choose whether both/all rules must be triggered (use the “and” function) or if only one of those rules needs to be triggered (use the “or” function) to make the Trigger active.

  • Farms - this is where you can opt to apply Triggers to particular farms. By default, all farms that you have Viewer, Reporter, Editor, Authorised or Full Access to will be selected.

  • Date Range - this is where you can opt for a Trigger only to be active for a particular part of the season. By default, if no date range is selected, the Trigger will be active year round.

Importance - this is a score from 1 to 5 that allows you to influence how Trigger notifications are prioritised relative to each other so that the Triggers most important to you can be brought to your attention (for more information refer to How is the Trigger Score Calculated?)
