Automated notifications are a powerful way to engage with your customers at the right time, without requiring manual work from your team. From reminding users about abandoned carts to updating them on their order status or alerting them to product discounts, these messages help you increase conversions, boost retention, and deliver a better customer experience.

In this article, you’ll learn how to configure and customize your automated notifications, set delays and manage each notification type to fit your goals.

To get started, go to your dashboard and click on “Automated Notifications”.

Notification Types

You can set up multiple types of automated push notifications, each triggered by specific user actions or system events. Here’s a breakdown of what’s available:

1. Abandoned Cart

This notification is sent when a user adds products to their cart but doesn’t complete the purchase.

  • Customization Options:

    • Set how much time should pass before the notification is sent (e.g., 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours).

    • Customize the message and link it directly to the cart screen in your app.

This is a highly effective way to recover lost sales and bring users back to complete their purchase.

2. Order Status Updates

Keep your customers informed with real-time updates throughout the order lifecycle. The following triggers are available:

  • Order Marked as Paid

  • Order Fulfilled

  • Order In Transit

  • Order Delivered

  • Ready for Pickup

  • Attempted Delivery

  • Order Canceled

For each of these, you can:

  • Customize the title and body of the message.

  • Choose whether to enable or disable each status update.

These notifications reduce customer uncertainty and improve the post-purchase experience, especially for users who prefer mobile-first interactions.

3. Back in Stock

Notify users when a previously out-of-stock product becomes available again.

  • Customization Options:

    • Trigger notifications only for users who showed interest in the product (e.g., added it to wishlist or tried to purchase it).

    • Include product name and a text to catch their interest.

This notification helps you convert missed opportunities and can drive immediate traffic to high-demand items.

4. Product Discount

Automatically alert users when a product goes on sale.

  • Customization Options:

    • Set discount thresholds (e.g., notify only for discounts above 20%).

    • Customize the message to create urgency, such as “Limited time only” or “Sale ending soon”.

This is a powerful tool for promoting sales campaigns and moving stock quickly.

Managing and Customizing Notifications

Each automated notification can be easily managed through the Automated Notifications panel:

  • Active / Inactive – Choose which notifications are active.

  • Edit Content – Write your own title and message, with support for dynamic variables like product name or order number.

  • Schedule Delay – For eligible notifications (like Abandoned Cart), set a delay between the trigger and when the message is sent.

All notifications are optimized for push delivery, ensuring they reach users quickly and efficiently.

Pro Tip: Make It Personal

Personalized messages perform better. Use dynamic content and tailor messages to user behavior wherever possible.

For example:

  • “Still thinking about those sneakers? They're waiting in your cart!”

  • “Your order #1234 is now out for delivery – get ready!”

By automating key touchpoints in the user journey, you keep your brand top-of-mind, reduce friction, and create timely interactions that feel personal and relevant, all without lifting a finger.
