We understand that the concept of direct sales, as ours, is not as easy to understand in the beginning and because of that we will explain to you in detail, which costs are associated with a tree adoption.

With the first payment, you adopt your tree and reserve the harvest for the following season. This way, we can take care of the tree by pruning, watering, etc. 🌳

Then, as soon as the season starts, you can order your harvest. This involves logistical costs per box, including harvesting, packaging, shipping and service. These costs depend on the country of shipment and the box size you choose.

But in this case, is it really cost-effective to make an adoption? Well, the answer is YES. Thanks to your adoption, you benefit from reduced prices on every box you order. No worries, we know there are doubts and that's why we've done the simulation for you.

Here you can see how much it would cost you to order a complete harvest, i.e. 80kg, with or without adoption for the first year, with Germany as the country of dispatch:

With Adoption

Without Adoption

Adoption of an orange tree (80kg) = 80 euros

-

Logistic costs for sending the harvest:

5 boxes of 15kg = 5 x 28 euros

+

1 box of 5kg = 1 x 15 euros

= 155 euros

5 boxes of 15kg = 5 x 45 euros

+

1 box of 5kg = 1 x 19 euros

= 244 euros

Total cost = 80 + 155 = 235 euros

Price per kilo = 2.95€/kg

Total cost = 244 euros

Price per kilo = 3.05€/kg

So from the very first year, you're a winner! Knowing that this advantage is even greater from the second year onwards, because the maintenance costs of adoption are lower.

With Adoption

Without Adoption

Cost of maintaining an orange tree (80kg) = 60 euros

-

Logistic costs related to the shipment of the harvest:

5 boxes of 15kg = 5 x 28 euros

+

1 box of 5kg = 1 x 15 euros

= 155 euros

5 boxes of 15kg = 5 x 45 euros

+

1 box of 5kg = 1 x 19 euros

= 244 euros

Total cost = 60 + 155 = 215 euros

Price per kilogram = 2.69€/kg

Total cost = 244 euros

Price per kilogram = 3.05€/kg

Of course you always have the option to order your harvest in 10kg boxes. Or if you prefer not to order the 5kg left over, you can just keep them for the next season. Indeed you never lose the kilos you don’t consume, you accumulate them each year. As you see, there are always options and you are not tied to order all of your harvest, nor to maintain your adoption for the next season if you changed your mind.
