User roles determine what users can see and do within the Ad Platform. Roles are composed of a set of permissions that specify each activity allowed under the role. Each user is assigned a role. You can use roles to support your workflows or enforce your organizations access rules.

Built-in Roles

The Ad Platform includes a set of built-in roles that cover the most common use cases. You can't edit these roles but you can assign them to users within your organization. Note that these roles may be updated periodically as new features are released.

Role Name

Role Description

Administrator

Administrators have full access the ad platform including campaigns, reporting, and user management.

Campaign Trafficker

Campaign Traffickers can manage and report on campaigns, creatives, and all related entities.

Creative Editor

Creative Editors can manage creatives and view campaigns but cannot change trafficking details.

Analyst

Analysts can view all report types in the ad platform and have complete access to all data.

Campaign Analyst

Campaign Analysts can view all report types in the ad platform, have complete access to all data, and view the Campaigns hub.

Custom Roles

You can create custom roles if the built-in roles don't map well to your process or needs. Administrators can create custom roles to augment or replace the built-in roles entirely.

Create a custom role on the Roles list page by selecting "Create Role". Select the custom permissions you want to assign to your role in the role editor.

Risk of Shared Logins

Using shared or fake emails exposes you to security risks, limits access to useful features in the platform, and makes it difficult to receive important updates.

We recommend using real unique emails for each user logging in for your organization. We offer features like Roles, Teams, and Single Sign-On to help you manage and streamline access. If you have specific needs for dummy or shared logins, please contact your account manager.

Security Concerns

  • Access cannot be easily revoked from users (e.g. user leaves the company)

  • Password changes are difficult to manage

  • Cannot enable two-step authentication

Functionality Limitations

  • Personalized settings like Favorites

  • Campaign pacing alerts and status updates

  • Long-running and scheduled report downloads

  • Campaign wrap decks

  • Limits flexibility of built-in Teams management

  • Traceability and accountability limited (change logs)
