We may send you an email from time to time solely to provide you with Neevo service updates and other related communications, or if you requested us for specific support. There is certain information about you that we'll never request via email, text message service (e.g. emails, SMS, WhatsApp, or similar), or social networks.  If you received an unsolicited message requesting your Neevo account username or password, payment details, or any personal data, it most probably didn't come from us, and you're being targeted for phishing or a similar scam.

1. How can I identify if an email or text came from Neevo?

We will never ask you for your personal information via email or texts, such as:

  • Neevo passwords.

  • Credit or debit card numbers.

  • Financial details, including payment accounts such as PayPal.

  • Personal information such as your name, ID, social security number, driver's license, etc.

We will also never ask you to:

  • Perform any payments of any kind.

  • Open any attachments, since we will never send them to you in the first place.

  • Click a button in an email to login to our platform.

  • To comply with urgent actions or account blocking threats that are structured to persuade you to click a link or contact us back for restoration.

  • Change password where you would need to provide us your current password.

Also, we will always:

  • Refer to you by your name. We do not use generic salutations.

  • Any provided links will have an URL address that points to www.neevo.ai and not any other site.

If you have received such a message, it's not from Neevo.

2. What should I do if I received a suspicious email or text?

If you have received such an email/text message, you should report it to us (phishing@neevo.ai), by forwarding the phishing message and then delete it immediately.

Be aware that a scammer cannot get any information from you unless you give them voluntarily or you provide them with the means to do it. Thus, it's very important that you never reply to these messages, never provide any personal or sensitive information, and never click any links or download any attachments sent to you.

Our best advice is if you get any unsolicited message, the best course of action is to ignore and delete it.

3. What should I do if I fell victim to a scam?

If you believe you fell victim to a scam by clicking a link or by proving personal or sensitive information to a suspicious email, you should do the following as soon as possible:

  • Change  or reset your Neevo account password. While doing this, we suggest you follow our password recommendations (How to Protect your Account).

  • Immediately change the password of any other online service accounts where you used the same email and password combination.

  • If you provided any financial information or credentials, contact your financial institution immediately to prevent further impact.

  • If you have downloaded and opened any malicious attachments, validate that your operating system is safe by running an anti-malware scan. If you have a positive result, and the anti-malware can't solve the issue, we recommend that you reinstall your operating system from scratch or from a backup known to be safe.

  • Report the issue to us by forwarding the phishing message  (phishing@neevo.ai) and then delete it.

4. Best practices to keep your information safe

We have compiled some tips that you can use to keep your information safe:

  • Be suspicious of any email or text requesting your personal information, especially if unsolicited.

  • Never provide any personal or financially sensitive information through email.

  • Validate if the sender's email address looks legitimate (typically the From field).

  • Hover over any provided links before clicking on them to validate that the URL address points to the correct website. Instead of clicking any links, another alternative is to copy and paste the link into your browser. This will reveal the URL address before you hit enter to load the website.

  • Make sure the website you're visiting is secure (there's a green padlock icon before the URL) and is legitimate has the correct/expected site URL).

  • When in doubt, contact your service provider and validate the request with them (don't reply to the message).

  • Install an anti-virus/anti-malware software to keep your devices safe.

  • Keep your system and applications up to date with the latest security updates.

  • Back up your important information to an external drive or cloud storage service regularly.

  • Keep your personal and sensitive information in your hard drive fully encrypted. Several native and software alternatives can help encrypt your data:

  • Enable full-disk encryption native support: BitLocker (Microsoft Windows systems), FileVault (Apple OS X systems), or EncryptFS (Linux systems).

  • Install software to encrypt specific folders in your system or the cloud, such as Cryptomator and Veracrypt.
