Your Neno Business Bank Account
When you complete your BV incorporation and onboarding with Neno, you receive a fully featured business bank account. This article explains what your account includes and how to navigate its key features.
Account Type and Banking Partner
Your Neno business bank account is an electronic money account (e-money account) provided by our banking partner, a licensed electronic money institution regulated by the ACPR (Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution) under the Banque de France. Our banking partner holds an e-money license under EU regulations, which means your funds are safeguarded in segregated accounts at partner banks, separate from operating funds.
This is not a traditional bank deposit account, but it functions similarly for day-to-day business banking: you can send and receive transfers, use debit cards, set up standing orders, and manage your finances.
Your IBAN
Your account comes with a dedicated Dutch IBAN (International Bank Account Number). You can find your IBAN by navigating to Account in the sidebar and selecting IBAN. This is the account number you share with customers, suppliers, and anyone who needs to send you money.
Your IBAN works across the entire SEPA zone (36 European countries) for euro transfers.
Virtual IBANs
In addition to your main IBAN, you can create Virtual IBANs — additional IBANs linked to the same underlying account. Virtual IBANs are useful for:
Separating incoming payments by client or project
Tracking which customers have paid by assigning each a unique IBAN
Reconciliation — payments to a Virtual IBAN are automatically tagged
To manage Virtual IBANs, go to Account → Virtual IBANs in the sidebar.
Understanding Your Balance
Your account displays two balance figures:
Available balance — The amount you can spend right now. This accounts for pending outgoing transactions and any holds.
Booked balance — The amount based on fully processed (booked) transactions only.
When making transfers, the system checks your available balance to determine if you have sufficient funds.
