Sending and Receiving Money with Neno

This article covers all the ways you can send and receive payments through your Neno business bank account.

Sending Money

All outgoing transfers are initiated from Payments in the sidebar.

SEPA Credit Transfer (Standard)

The standard way to send money within the SEPA zone (36 European countries). To create a transfer:

  1. Go to Payments and select New Transfer

  2. Enter the recipient's name, IBAN, amount, and reference

  3. Review and confirm

Standard SEPA transfers are processed in EUR and typically arrive within 1 business day.

SEPA Instant Credit Transfer

When available, you can send an instant transfer that arrives in seconds, 24/7 — including weekends and holidays. The instant option appears when creating a new transfer if both your account and the recipient's bank support SEPA Instant (SCT Inst).

International Transfers

For payments outside the SEPA zone, use the international transfer option:

  1. Go to Payments and select International Transfer

  2. Enter the recipient's name, account number, and BIC/SWIFT code

  3. Select the currency and amount

  4. Review exchange rate and any fees, then confirm

International transfers typically take 2–5 business days.

Standing Orders (Recurring Transfers)

To automate regular payments:

  1. Go to Payments and select Recurring Transfer

  2. Enter recipient details, amount, and reference

  3. Set the frequency (weekly, monthly, etc.) and start date

  4. Confirm

Manage active standing orders under TransactionsStanding Orders in the sidebar.

Receiving Money

Incoming SEPA Transfers

Share your IBAN (found under AccountIBAN) with anyone who needs to send you money. Incoming SEPA transfers appear in your transaction history as soon as they're processed.

Direct Debits (Incasso)

SEPA Direct Debits allow authorized companies to collect payments from your account. You'll see these in your transaction history. Under SEPA rules, you can dispute an unauthorized direct debit within 13 months.

Virtual IBANs for Tracking

Use Virtual IBANs (under AccountVirtual IBANs) to give different customers or projects unique payment references. Incoming payments to a Virtual IBAN are automatically linked to that IBAN, making reconciliation easier.

Beneficiaries

Save frequently used recipients as beneficiaries to speed up future transfers. Manage your saved beneficiaries under AccountBeneficiaries in the sidebar.

Verification of Payee

When entering a recipient's IBAN and name for a transfer, the system may perform a Verification of Payee (IBAN-Naam Check) to confirm the name matches the account holder. If there's a mismatch, you'll see a warning before confirming.

Transaction Status

All transactions can be tracked under Transactions in the sidebar:

  • Booked — Fully processed and final

  • Pending — Being processed, not yet final

  • Rejected — Transaction was not processed (see the rejection reason for details)

  • Upcoming — Scheduled transfers that haven't been executed yet (visible in the Upcoming tab)
