Microsoft Power BI

Background

Power BI is Microsoft’s cloud-based business analytics service (SaaS) that enables users to visualize and share insights from their data. It connects to a wide range of data sources, allowing users to create interactive dashboards and reports that support real-time decision-making. As a Software-as-a-Service offering.

Steps to find your PowerBI Region

  • Sign in to the Power BI service: Go to app.powerbi.com and sign in with your credentials.

  • Access the "About Power BI" section: Click on the question mark icon (?) in the top right corner and select "About Power BI".

  • Identify the data region: A pop-up window will appear, displaying information about your Power BI service, including the data region where your organization's data is stored.

Look at your Tableau Cloud URL, which looks like this:

  • On-Premises (Traditional)

Hosted on Azure, AWS, or any cloud of your choice.

Self management of the virtual machines, SQL Server, and Jet components.

IP Address needs to be provided for the cloud provider hosting the instances.

On-Premises

Jet Analytics is installed on local servers, typically alongside your ERP system.

On premise external facing IP addresses need to be provided.

Fully Managed Cloud

Jet Analytics is hosted and managed for by Insightsoftware or a certified Jet partner

IP addresses needs to be provided by Insightsoftware or partner

You can access your Qlik Cloud Tenant region directly by using its tenant URL.

Your Qlik Cloud tenant URL is formatted as follows:

tenantname.region.qlikcloud.com

Where tenantname is the alias you have assigned or the preassigned tenant name and region is the region (us, eu, de. uk, sg, ap).
