Please note: This feature is only available in the advanced forecasting feature.

This feature allows for efficient bulk adjustments to individual item forecasts, streamlining the process for reviewing and amending a large number of items.

Navigate to Forecasts screen > Summary panel > Adjust items button.

Recommended Workflow:

  1. Filter Items: Narrow the item list to a manageable subset using relevant filters.

  2. Review and Adjust: Manually examine and modify forecasts as needed.

  3. Apply and Freeze: Implement the changes and prevent them from being overwritten by future automated forecasts.

The Importance of Filters

The initial forecast summary page displays data for all items within a location, which can be extensive. To effectively utilize the multi-item adjustment tool, filtering is crucial.

  • Navigate to Forecasts screen > Summary panel > Adjust items button.

  • Click the "Filter" button.

  • Specify your filtering criteria.

  • Click the "Apply" (tick) button.

Using the Multi-Item Manual Forecast Adjustment functionality

After filtering, click the "Adjust items" (pencil) button to access the multi-item manual forecast adjustment interface.

  • Optional Global Adjustment (Before Item-Level):

    • Click "Adjust totals" (pencil icon) to make a preliminary global adjustment to the selected items for specific months.

    • Model the impact of this change.

    • Click "Adjust items" (graph icon) to review the resulting individual forecasts before applying.

Item Review and Adjustment Interface

This screen displays a list of items with relevant forecast information, enabling individual adjustments.

Key elements include:

  • Sortable Columns: Click column headings to sort the item list (e.g., by Risk or Status).

    • Risk: Identifies items with significant forecast uncertainty, allowing for focused review to optimize safety stock.

    • Status: Highlights items with current or potential stock-outs, ensuring forecast accuracy for critical situations.

  • Item List: Displays individual items with key data.

  • Summary Panel (Bottom Right): Shows the net impact of any forecast adjustments, with options to view by Cost price, Sell price, Margin, or Units.

  • Action Buttons: "Apply" (to save changes), "Undo" (to revert changes), "Download" (item list), and "Upload" (forecasts).

  • Item Details: For each item, the following information is provided to aid in the review process:

    • Product and grouping details.

    • Item classification.

    • Sales and forecast graph.

    • Sales and forecast averages, period-to-date sales, item age.

    • Sales history, the system-generated forecast, and editable forecast fields.

When a forecast is manually adjusted, the corresponding cell background will change, and the summary panel will update accordingly.

Applying and Freezing Forecasts

Forecast modifications are not finalized until the "Apply" button is clicked. This action saves the adjusted forecasts and "freezes" them, preventing them from being overwritten by subsequent system-generated forecasts.

Note: If a manually entered forecast matches the system-generated forecast for a specific period, it will be automatically unfrozen.

Final Data Re-Processing

A final data re-process is necessary for the applied forecast adjustments to influence ordering, classification, and status calculations.
