Are you finding yourself with a total order quantity just shy of a discount point? How about some unutilized space in a container?

Using the Netstock Solver functionality in the Order schedule easily assists you in reaching your discount point or filling a container in an optimal way, among others things.

To make use of this functionality, navigate to any Order schedule and follow the steps below.

  1. Click on the “Add items to this order” button on the bottom right corner of the Order schedule.

You may select to add any item from this supplier to this location, add only items with top-ups available or specify a product code.

Remember: Items with Top-Ups available are items with Net stock below their Order up to level, but above their Re-order point. Items with Net stock below their Re-order point would have been added to the Order schedule upon creation.

  2. In the “Add to order” screen, you may order on any column by clicking on it and select which order lines to add to the schedule by ticking it on the far right hand column.

You may also adjust the order quantity that will be added to the order in the Order column.

  3. Looking at our example above, suppose you receive discount when you order 1,170 units. You may manually tick enough order lines in the list to reach that point, OR you may make use of the Netstock Solver.

  4. In the Target dropdown, select to target either Units, Value, Weight or Volume.

  5. Select the value you are targeting and hit “Solve”.

  6. The Solver will select all the lines to add in order to reach the target as closely as possible without going over.

NOTE: The Solver will select applicable line from top to bottom, skipping over those that will throw you over the target. Therefore, if you want it selecting lines by priority of Weight, for example, the order on that column first before using the Solver.

You may add more lines as you choose. To add lines to the Order schedule, click the “Add” button.

  7. You can verify that the additional lines have been added by viewing the Comparison table at the bottom of the Order schedule.
