Definition

This setting will ensure that a decimal value for a stocked item order quantity gets rounded to 1.

Use case and explanation

Do not tick this box. Why bother with the admin for items with sales this small?

  • In most instances, re-classify items to non-stocked if their forecast is a low value year round.

  • Keep an item as stocked if it’s an A-Low item with a massive selling price or if the reason it has a low forecast NOW, is because it’s out of season and the forecast will increase again.

If you have a product with a forecast of 1 for the entire year, this setting will keep you stocked at 1 unit rather than waiting to buy arbitrarily when you get close to the forecast of 1.

This can be viewed as a very expensive configuration parameter to tick. Don’t just consider the unit costs involved with ordering items with a low forecast, but also the cost involved with order handling, storing, counting and cleaning an item that isn’t selling. The juice is not worth the squeeze.
