Designed to support clear, student-centered academic reporting, the Grading module gives schools the tools they need to track progress, recognize achievement, and identify students who may need additional support. Manage course grades and teacher submissions, customize grading scales, comments, and GPA settings to match your school’s standards, and maintain accurate student records with built-in transcript and test score management.

With graduation progress tracking through Credit Checker, the Grading module serves as a central hub for organized, reliable academic data throughout a student’s academic journey.

Entry

Grading Entry provides streamlined tools for assigning course grades to students. Whether you’re entering grades for an individual student, updating an entire course roster, or reviewing grades submitted by teachers, jmc makes the process efficient and flexible.

  • Edit Grades: Enter or update grades for a selected student in your building.

  • List Entry: Quickly enter or update course grades for an entire group of students in a selected course.

  • Grade Acceptance: Manage and monitor teacher grade submissions during or at the end of a specified term.

Reports

The Grading module includes robust reporting tools to help you monitor student progress and recognize achievement. View honor roll status and class rank, analyze grade distributions and GPAs, and identify students who may need intervention using grade reports, midterms, report cards, and progress reports. Share academic progress with families by generating and sending report cards at the end of each term.

Utilities

Grading utilities define the foundation of your school’s grading system, including grade values, percentage scales, and teacher comments. Customize these settings to align with your school’s grading philosophy and ensure consistency across classrooms.

  • Edit Grade Values: Define grade symbols and associated grade point values used to calculate GPAs and appear on report cards.

  • Teacher Grade Cutoffs and CBG Results: Set default percentage cutoffs for traditional score-based gradebooks and establish proficiency scales for competency-based grading.

  • Edit Comments: Create predefined comments teachers can add to report cards and midterms to streamline end-of-term reporting.

  • Show GPA: View a detailed breakdown of the courses, grades, and values used to calculate a student’s GPA—ideal for reviewing GPA calculations with students or families.

Transcripts

Manage student transcripts with tools that let you build, edit, and print customized transcripts, including items like test scores, student photos, and extracurricular activities. Easily incorporate complete academic records for transfer students without without complicating your course schedule or grading utilities.

  • Edit Transcript Courses: Enter or adjust course details for transfer students when completed courses don’t align with your course catalog.

  • Edit Student Transcripts: Maintain a fully editable academic record, including grades, credits, GPA details, course comments, and state-specific information.

  • Print Transcripts: Customize and print or email transcripts for individual students or entire grade levels.

Test Scores

Maintain standardized test score records to provide a complete picture of student achievement. jmc supports scores from assessments such as FAST, ACT, and SAT, enabling advanced reporting and seamless inclusion on student transcripts.

  • Edit Student Test Scores: Manually add standardized test results for an individual student.

  • Import Test Scores: Upload testing files provided by assessment vendors, with built-in matching to assign scores to the correct students.

  • Mass Create Test Scores: Quickly create testing categories for all students in a course section to speed up manual entry.

  • Export Test Score Files: Generate roster files for use with platforms such as AIMSWeb, Aspire, FAST, ISASP, NWEA, STAR, and WIDA.

Credit Checker

The Credit Checker helps schools define graduation requirements and track student progress toward graduation. Requirements can be set by graduation year to accommodate changing standards without affecting historical data. Monitor overall credits and subject-specific requirements to ensure students stay on track.

  • Import Graduation Credit Requirements from a Prior Year: Quickly copy requirements from a previous graduating class to reduce manual setup.

  • Edit Subject Areas and Graduation Credit Requirements: Define graduation requirements and specify which courses fulfill each subject area.

  • Print Graduation Credit Requirements: Generate printable lists of required subjects, credits, and courses by graduating class.
