You can start with as little as $100, but for the maximum amount you can check on the offering when viewing on the portal platform. Remember you must stay within the annual investment limits set by your income/net worth when you registered with Newchip and the portals.

The maximum limit depends on the kind of offering and whether you are an “accredited” investor.

Regulation A Offerings

If you are an “accredited” investor, there is no legal limit on amount you can invest in a Regulation A offering.

If you are not an “accredited” investor, then in each Regulation A offering you can invest no more than the greater of 10% of your income or 10% of your net worth.

Regulation CF Offerings

Whether you are an “accredited” investor or not, the maximum amount you can invest in all Regulation CF offerings during any period of 12 months is:

Everyone can invest at least $2,200
If either your net worth or income are below $107k, you may legally invest a maximum of 5% of the lesser number.
If both your net worth or income are above $107k, you may legally invest a maximum of 10% of the lesser number.
No one may invest more than $107,000. Accredited investors are subject to the same investment limitations as everyone else, no matter how silly that is.

Regulation D offerings

Only Accredited Investors may invest, and they have no limits. Accredited investors are wealthy people: typically making over $200,000 per year ($300,000 if joint with spouse) or having over $1 million in assets, minus their home.

These are adjusted periodically by the SEC, based on inflation.
