Introduction

Affiliate deals are a valuable opportunity for news publishers to generate additional revenue by incorporating relevant offers into their articles. With Newsifier, you can easily embed affiliate links into your content, allowing you to monetize your work seamlessly.

This integration enables you to track performance through your affiliate account and maximize earnings—all while maintaining an efficient editorial workflow.

How Does It Work?

1. Product Affiliate Integration

To begin using affiliate deals, you'll first need to integrate your affiliate account with Newsifier.

  1. Go to Settings > Other tab > Affiliates in the admin panel.

  2. Enter your affiliate account details and save the information.

📌Note: Currently, Newsifier only supports integration with the BOL affiliate network.

2. Adding Affiliate Deals to Your Articles

Once your affiliate account is integrated, you can easily add affiliate deals directly within the article editor.

  1. Open the article you wish to add a deal to.

  2. Click the + icon in the editor and select Affiliates.

  3. A search box will appear, allowing you to find relevant deals.

  4. Click the + icon next to the deal you'd like to add. The deal will automatically be inserted into your article along with your affiliate tracking link.

💡Tip: Regularly update your affiliate deals to ensure relevancy and improve performance.

FAQs

Q: How can I track the performance of my affiliate deals?

A: You can track clicks and conversions through your affiliate account dashboard, which contains detailed performance metrics.

Q: Can I request support for other affiliate networks?

A: Yes, if you would like to request support for additional affiliate networks, please email us at support@newsifier.com.

Q: Why is my affiliate widget showing a 500 error?

A: If your affiliate widget returns a 500 error, it is usually related to missing or invalid API credentials. In most cases, this means that the bol.com token is not configured correctly in your Newsifier CMS.

How to fix this: You need to generate a new token from bol.com with the correct permissions and add it to your CMS.

Step 1: Generate a new token in bol.com

  1. Log in to your bol.com retailer/developer environment

  2. Go to the API / Developer section

  3. Open your existing app (or create a new one)

  4. Generate new credentials (Client ID / Client Secret)

  5. Make sure the Catalog scope is enabled

  6. Copy the credentials

Step 2: Add the token to Newsifier

  1. Go to your Newsifier CMS

  2. Open the affiliate / integration settings

  3. Add the generated credentials

  4. Save your changes

Important notes

  • Make sure the Catalog scope is selected, otherwise the widget will not work

  • If you regenerate credentials, update them in Newsifier immediately

  • Treat your credentials securely (like a password)

If the issue still persists after updating the token, please contact our support team for further assistance.
