In addition to the standard system blocks, you can integrate a customized GDPR consent clause into your subscription form. This allows you to include tailored text, a selection checkbox, and a direct link to your privacy policy.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Create a Data Attribute for Consent
To display a checkbox in your form, you first need to set up a corresponding recipient attribute (custom field):
Navigate to Recipients → Attributes in the main menu.
Click on Create New Attribute.
Assign a clear name to the attribute (e.g.,
GDPR_Consent).Select Text as the field type.
Enable the option Provide predefined values for selection? and enter the desired choices (e.g., "Yes" or "I agree").
Optional Advanced Settings:
Allow multiple values: Enable this if the recipient should be able to select multiple checkboxes. If disabled, only a single option can be selected.
Set default value: Pre-selects an option by default. (Note: To ensure GDPR compliance, consent checkboxes should not be pre-selected by default and must require an active action from the user).
2. Add the Attribute to Your Form
Go to Forms and open the specific form you wish to edit.
In the second step of the form builder, add your newly created attribute.
Once added, you can configure the following display options:
Label: Customize the text visible to users on the form, independent of the internal attribute name. You can paste your entire consent text here.
Required Field: Activate this option to ensure that users cannot complete the registration without checking the box.
3. Link Your Privacy Policy (HTML Option)
To insert a hyperlink directly to your privacy policy within the text, use an HTML element:
In the form editor, under Additional Attribute, select Custom HTML.
Insert your legal text into the field, including the HTML link code.
HTML Code Example:
HTML
I agree to receive the newsletter and have read and accepted the <a href="https://yourdomain.com/privacy-policy/" target="_blank">Privacy Policy</a>.
Simply replace the placeholder URL (https://yourdomain.com/privacy-policy/) with the actual link to your website's privacy policy.
