Can I combine layout blocks with standard blocks?

Learn how to combine standard and layout blocks (grid system) in your newsletter templates and benefit from enhanced rendering and easier editing.

When you select an existing custom template or a standard template, it will initially still contain the classic standard blocks. You can continue to edit or duplicate these blocks as usual without using the grid system, allowing you to remain in the editor's standard mode.

The following blocks are not yet based on the grid system (layout block):

  • Text

  • Image

  • Button

  • Divider

  • Social media block

  • HTML block

Advantages of the new grid system:

  • Effortless Combination: Layout and content blocks complement each other seamlessly.

  • Improved Rendering Reliability: Ensures a better and more secure display of newsletter elements across all devices.

  • Centralized Control: Centrally define the desired number of columns and align content vertically.

  • Automated Processing: Nested components such as images, text, and buttons are automatically and optimally calculated.

Recommendation: We generally recommend using the grid system to ensure the best design stability and ease of use. However, if you have legacy templates you wish to keep using, you can easily do so—all templates remain fully compatible with the new editor.
