Using a custom tracking domain instead of the default option enhances brand recognition for your recipients and optimizes the deliverability of your email campaigns. This step-by-step guide walks you through the configuration process.
Note: This guide uses example.org as a placeholder. Please replace it with your actual domain name.
1. Choose a Subdomain
Select a dedicated, previously unused subdomain of your primary domain. We recommend choosing a name that recipients can easily associate with your brand (e.g., newsletter.example.org).
2. Configure the DNS Settings (CNAME Record)
Create a new DNS record (Type: CNAME) for the chosen subdomain through your domain registrar or hosting provider.
Type: CNAME
Name/Host:
newsletter(or your chosen subdomain)Value/Target:
tracking.newsletter2go.com
If you are managing your DNS zone via a raw zone file, the entry should look like this: newsletter IN CNAME tracking.newsletter2go.com.
3. Activate the Domain in Newsletter2Go
Log in to your Newsletter2Go account.
Navigate to Email Settings > Tracking.
Check the box for "Custom Tracking Domain".
Enter the complete URL of the subdomain you created in Step 1 (e.g.,
http://newsletter.example.org).Click "Save Changes" to apply the settings.
⚠️ Important Notice: By default, your custom tracking domain is secured with our SSL certificate, ensuring that all tracking links in your newsletters are automatically included using HTTPS.
Once you have configured your custom tracking domain, please contact our support team so we can activate the SSL certificate for your domain.
