How do I sign my emails with Sender ID?

Learn how to set up Sender ID for your domain to authorize Newsletter2Go as a valid sender and improve delivery to Microsoft services (Outlook, Hotmail). Step-by-step guide to configuring your DNS TXT record.

Background and Functionality

By implementing Sender ID, you authorize Newsletter2Go's mail servers to send emails on behalf of your domain. This authentication method is predominantly utilized by Microsoft email services, including Outlook.com, Hotmail, and MSN. Proper configuration ensures your newsletters are verified correctly, improving delivery rates and preventing spam classification.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

  1. Access Settings: Navigate to your account's Email Settings and "Go to Domains" and click then on Set up new domain.

  2. Enter Domain: Enter your domain using the format mydomain.com (note: explicitly omitting the www. prefix).

  3. Configure DNS Record: The system will generate a specific entry that you need to add to your domain's DNS settings as a TXT record.

    • How to apply: You can apply this change yourself via your web host's administration panel, or forward the details to your network administrator or hosting provider to complete the setup. The entry typically begins with v= and must be entered without quotation marks.

  4. Propagation Time: Once the TXT record has been added to your DNS, it may take up to 24 hours for the changes to update globally and take effect.

  5. Verify Status: Return to your Email Settings to run a verification check manually. As soon as a green checkmark appears next to your domain, the validation is successful, and your future emails will be authenticated via Sender ID.
