We automatically group related items based on topic similarity, creating clear collections of articles that cover the same event or closely related topics.

Where to find Events

Events are one of the available views for your search results. You can find them directly above the list of results, under the Events tab. The content shown matches your current search filter.

Tip: The items included in an Event always correspond to the search filter applied above the results list. If you want to see all articles within an Event, select a longer time range and search in the Media Archive (if available).

Each Event displays:

  • the event title,

  • the time period (from the first to the latest item in the Event),

  • the number of items in the Event,

  • the overall reach of the items in the Event.

By clicking the Show more button, you can view the full Event detail, where all related items are displayed.

Tip: The number of items in an Event is automatically deduplicated.

However, when you click into the Event detail, you can also view items including duplicates if needed.

How to export Events

In the list of Events, simply select the ones you want to export and confirm by clicking the Export button.

How Events work

  • Grouping by topic similarity: The system analyses the content of items and groups them based on thematic connections.

  • One item = one Event: Each item can only belong to a single Event.

  • Adding new items: Newly published items may be automatically added to an existing Event, as long as they are published no later than 7 days after the latest item in the Event.

How the Event title is generated

The Event title is generated automatically based on these rules:

  • The system selects the last day of the Event.

  • It identifies the item from that day with the highest reach (OTS).

  • The headline of that item is used as the Event title.

How Events help you

  • Fast orientation: Get an overview of ongoing developments without having to browse through individual articles.

  • Complete context: See all relevant articles on a topic in one place.

  • Saving time: No need to manually search for related information.

  • Clarity: Reduce information overload when working with large volumes of data.

Tip: You can continue working with individual items in the Items tab.
When you click into the detail of an article, you will find a Similar Items section, which is based on Events and allows you to view all related articles from the same Event. You can find more information here.
