Nexar One's Low Battery Prompt
Updated over a week ago

This guide explains how the Nexar app detects when Nexar One's battery is about to run out and what to do when it happens.

What is Nexar One's Low Battery Prompt?

The Nexar One Low Battery prompt is an app feature that lets you know when your Nexar One's battery has reached a level where detecting or recording a parking incident may be limited.

If you see a Low battery status in the dash cam status bar, this means that the battery level has reached 30% and the Nexar One has entered Battery Saving Mode.

What Happens When Nexar One’s Battery Saving Mode Is Enabled?

To avoid complete drainage of the Nexar One's battery, the remote live stream option is disabled in order to preserve battery for parking incidents. No worries, your Nexar One’s battery will be charged when it's connected to power while you are driving. It could take between 45-95 minutes to fully charge the Nexar One, depending on the state of the battery.

What Happens to Parking Mode When Nexar One’s Battery Saving Mode Is Enabled?

When Nexar One's Battery Saving Mode is activated, Nexar One preserves battery so it can wake up in case of a parking incident. In case of impact, Nexar One will turn on and record a 30 second parking clip. The video will be uploaded to the cloud, and if you have a +Connectivity add-on and you are subscribed to Nexar Connect, you will get a message via text.

You can watch the parking incident by simply opening the Nexar app and tapping the Live button. This button will be disabled after 5 minutes.

Keep in mind that the dash cam has a limited number of times it can wake up. Once the battery is depleted, it won't be able to detect or record parking incidents.

How Can I Keep the Nexar One’s Battery Charged?

To keep the Nexar One's battery charged, if you're powering your Nexar One using the cigarette lighter charger and USB cable, make sure to keep the Nexar One dash cam connected to the charger at all times while you're driving. This will ensure that the dash cam remains powered, and its battery stays charged.

We highly recommend using the Nexar OBD kit or Hardwiring kit so it's constantly charged for a better overall Nexar One experience.
