Segments allow you to quickly filter pipeline data. You can define a segment using filters such as tags, opportunity types, or custom fields, saving that for future use. Segments help you focus on the opportunities that matter most.

πŸ”§ What Can You Do With Reporting Segments?

  • Create Custom Segments: Define exactly which opportunities you want to see by applying filters

  • Set Workspace Defaults: Admins can set a default segment for the pipeline. This applies to everyone in the workspace, keeping reporting consistent.

  • Set Personal Defaults: Any user can choose their own default segment for a pipeline, so the view is personalized when they log in.

βœ… Use Cases

Here are some examples of how teams use Reporting Segments:

  • Exclude Inflating Opportunities: Filter out IDIQs or other high-value opportunities that skew the pipeline totals.

  • Excluding outlier opportunities: Remove highly uncertain or "opportunistic" opportunities.

  • Focus on Strategic Areas: Create a segment that shows only opportunities from a specific business line, identified by a tag or custom field.

πŸ›  How to Create a Segment

  1. Go to the pipeline you want to filter.

  2. Name your segment

  3. Click on the segments dropdown at the top of the page and click on "+ Add Opportunity Segment"

  4. Select your filters

  5. Click Save

πŸ‘β€πŸ—¨ Visibility Rules

  • Workspace defaults override the base view of the pipeline.

  • Personal defaults override the workspace default for you only.

  • You can switch between segments at any time using the segment dropdown.
