How our Sharepoint Integration works

NextStage enables users to link related SharePoint sites directly to opportunities and proposals managed within the NextStage platform. This provides seamless access to associated SharePoint files from within each opportunity record. End users authenticate via Microsoft OAuth, which retrieves the list of available sites that can be linked to an opportunity.

What Information Does NextStage Store?

When you associate a SharePoint site or folder with an opportunity, NextStage stores only the Site ID and/or the folder path.

  • We do not store or synchronize any SharePoint file contents.

  • If AI-powered features (such as Chat or Proposal Assistant) are used, NextStage may temporarily cache the text contents of documents for processing. This cached data is never visible or directly accessible to users.

Permissions

NextStage does not bypass or override SharePoint’s native permissions. Instead, it fully respects and depends on them.

  • All access to SharePoint content is controlled through Microsoft OAuth using the end user’s identity.

  • This means that users only see the files and folders they already have permission to access in SharePoint.

  • If a user lacks permission to a linked site or folder in SharePoint, they will not be able to view or retrieve those contents in NextStage.
