Recommended Nexus AI Prompts

Overview

Nexus AI is NextStage's AI assistant, available throughout the Proposals workflow via Edit with AI on individual items (Win Themes, Technical Solution task areas), the Edit with AI option inside a Pink Team Draft, and wherever a Nexus AI chat panel is available.

Nexus AI has access to all data in your company workspace, not just the proposal you're currently working in. That means it can draw on your Company Profile, Cornerstone Proposals, Past Performance library, Personnel Bench, and every item generated in the current proposal's Kickoff Package, Compliance Matrix, Win Themes, Key Personnel, Past Performance, Technical Solution, and Proposal Outline, when you ask it a question or request a refinement.

The prompts below are organized by where you're working, but you can always reference other parts of your workspace in a prompt (e.g., asking Nexus AI to pull in a Cornerstone Proposal while working on Technical Solution), since Nexus AI can see across all of it.

Company Profile Prompts

  • "Review our Overview narrative and tell me what's missing compared to what a strong GovCon capability record should include."

  • "Based on our Cornerstone Proposals, suggest three additional Pursuit Themes we could add to Strategic Goals."

  • "Does our Capabilities section cover [specific service line]? If not, draft a capability record for it using our website and past performance."

Win Theme Prompts

  • "Refine this win theme to focus more on the customer's outcome rather than what we deliver."

  • "Using our Company Profile and past performance, strengthen the Strategic Rationale for this win theme with a more specific proof point."

  • "This win theme feels generic, rewrite it to differentiate us from a large prime competitor."

  • "Suggest a new win theme based on a differentiator in our Company Profile that isn't reflected in our current Win Themes."

Compliance Matrix Prompts

  • "Summarize the Not Reviewed requirements in Section L that touch on staffing."

  • "Cross-check REQ-08 against our Key Personnel roles, are we actually compliant?"

  • "Which requirements in this matrix don't yet have a related Win Theme or Technical Solution task area tied to them?"

Key Personnel Prompts

  • "Compare the two candidates recommended for [role] and tell me which better matches the RFP's qualifications."

  • "Draft a short justification for why [candidate] is qualified for [role], based on their resume and our Company Profile."

  • "Which of our confirmed Key Personnel roles are missing a resume or certification needed to meet the RFP's requirements?"

Past Performance Prompts

  • "Rank our selected Past Performance references by relevance to this opportunity's evaluation criteria, and explain why."

  • "Draft a Past Performance writeup for [contract] using the contract record and any CPARS data we have on file."

  • "Do we have a stronger past performance reference in our library than what's currently selected for this proposal?"

Technical Solution Prompts

  • "Expand the Implementation Approach & Phasing section for this task area with more specific detail on timeline and milestones."

  • "Strengthen the Risks & Mitigations section, we only have one risk identified and it needs more depth."

  • "Rewrite this task area's Solution Overview to better reflect our proven support for [type of mission/program], referencing our Company Profile."

  • "Does this task area's approach actually address every related requirement listed below it?"

Proposal Outline Prompts

  • "Draft Writer Guidance for this section that ties together our win themes, past performance, and the specific requirements mapped here."

  • "Is the page target for this section reasonable given how much content and how many requirements are mapped to it?"

  • "Which sections in this outline don't yet have Writer Guidance?"

Pink Team Draft Prompts

  • "Review this section for compliance with REQ-08 and REQ-21, does the current language fully address both?"

  • "Tighten this paragraph, it's currently over the page target and needs to be more concise without losing key points."

  • "Rewrite this section to better incorporate our win theme on [topic]."

  • "Check this volume for consistency, are we using the same terminology for [term] throughout?"

Compliance Review Prompts

  • "Summarize the Partial and Not Met requirements from the latest Compliance Review and suggest which ones are quick fixes versus which need a real rewrite."

  • "For REQ-12, the evidence doesn't look strong, help me find or write better supporting language in the draft."

General Cross-Workspace Prompts

  • "Based on everything in our Company Profile and this opportunity's requirements, what's our single strongest differentiator we should be leading with?"

  • "Are there any gaps between what our Company Profile claims and what this proposal is representing?"

  • "Pull relevant language from our [specific Cornerstone Proposal] to help draft this section."

Best Practices

  • Be specific about what you want Nexus AI to change, tone, length, emphasis, compliance, rather than asking it to "make this better"

  • Reference specific requirement IDs, win themes, or Company Profile content when you want Nexus AI to tie its response to something concrete

  • Since Nexus AI can see across your workspace, don't hesitate to ask it to pull in context from Company Profile, Cornerstone Proposals, or Past Performance even when working somewhere else in the proposal

  • Always review what Nexus AI proposes before accepting it, especially factual claims like certifications, contract values, or clearance levels

  • Treat Nexus AI's output as a strong first draft, not a final answer, final compliance and accuracy review is still on your team
